On Friday the 21st of April, a group of students of the Sint-Ursula Institute visited the city of Ostend in the context of their science week. At the SCAPE project site, the students were given a crash course in the organization and the driving forces in the politics of the European Union. These facts and figures provided the proper context to understand the dynamics and importance of EU to the local level.
Furthermore, the group gained insight into the process of urban development and renewal on the East Bank as well as into the technical innovation of the so-called city river in the Victorialaan.
Op vrijdag 21 april, brachten een aantal studenten van het Sint-Ursula-Instituut in de context van hun wetenschapsweek een bezoek aan Oostende. Op de SCAPE project site, werden de studenten ondergedompeld in het organisatorische kluwen en de drijvende krachten in de Europese politiek. Deze achtergrond bood de ideale voedingsbodem om het belang van de EU voor het lokale niveau beter te kunnen begrijpen.
Daarnaast verwierven de studenten de nodige inzichten in het proces van stadsvernieuwing op de Oosteroever. Ook de technische innovatie van de zogenaamde 'City River', die het SCAPE-project in de Victorialaan kenmerkt, kwam aan bod.
