The Panel comprised a range of experts including council officers, local project partners, representatives from the local community and a partner from SCAPE.
Between them the members of the Panel provided a diverse range of expertise. This enabled a wide-ranging discussion and helped the Panel to assess the degree to which the proposals met the non-technical place-making and public realm aspects of the tender.
The selection process benefited from feedback from local communities who had viewed the proposals, either at the public exhibitions or online. Their views were another factor that counted towards the final scores and will be fed back to the consultants that will be awarded the tender to work-up designs for pilot schemes.
The more technical flood prevention aspects of the proposals were assessed as a separate exercise by technical experts.
